Agent Templates
Agents are changing the template business. Templates used to be the fastest way to a published site. Find one you like, modify it, and go live. Now, it’s easier to ask an Agent to get started than to buy and modify a template yourself.
We need to make templates useful for Agents. Last week’s Skills launch was a first step. Skills teach the Agent how you like work to get done. But a template needs more than a skill to be useful to an Agent.
Agents need:
A design system page that show all the building blocks of your template (sections, typography, color).
A set of skills that teach the Agent how to work with your template, from building new pages to writing copy and making edits.
Customers need:
A few example pages to get inspired about what to build.
A how-to video to understand how to use your template, design system, and skills.
Agent templates can be a lot leaner than what you would normally include with a template. Fewer example pages, fewer CMS collections, less lorem ipsum. Template creators can spend less time on things customers might never use, and more time improving what the agent produces.
This is what we’re building towards on the Framer Marketplace. Agent templates that help customers launch better sites, faster.
To help creators get started, the Framer design team made a free Agent template with its own design system and skills. Give it a try.
